NCERT Chemistry Class 12 (Part 2)

Official NCERT Chemistry Part 2 textbook for Class 12. Covers p-block, d-block, coordination compounds, biomolecules, and more.

Part 2 completes the Class 12 syllabus with chapters on the p-block elements, coordination compounds, haloalkanes and haloarenes, alcohols and phenols, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids, amines, and biomolecules. This is where organic chemistry deepens considerably, with multiple-step reaction mechanisms and synthesis pathways.

Coordination compounds and the organic chemistry block are heavily tested in both JEE Main and Advanced. NCERT is particularly strong here — the reaction mechanisms, named reactions, and reagent-specific transformations are exactly what JEE asks. Create detailed reaction charts and practice writing mechanisms from memory. This part also covers biomolecules, which often yield 2-3 direct questions in JEE Main. Treat every page as exam-relevant.
